After a couple of modifications and a total of 4 prototypes I have finished my polaroid portfolio. Having the tabs glue tabs instead of tuck in tabs, it's much more sturdy and less fiddly to put together, so it doesn't get all creased etc.
The digital version of my portfolio is under my photo to the right of this entry.

I just put together the first prototype. Came together alright, was one mistake I made, and will now make a few changes just to improve the design and make it come together better.

I finished the pattern/template for my Polaroid Camera portfolio. Then photographed the cameras sides so that I could impose them onto the template. Here are a couple of the mockup trial pattern and the template with images imposed before I take it to the printers and find out it doesn't work and have to make heaps of changes.

Polaroid Project 01/13/2010

I think this is the first post of the year. I've decided to make a paper polaroid camera. So I'm busy copying my OneStep Plus, will be interesting, it's quite challenging making a template from scratch, but exciting.

I have graduated (top of my class) and am now qualified. Having a nice break and working on some really cool projects.

I have been really busy getting the poster designs ready for screen printing and haven't had any time to post. But I thought I better so here is a teaser of the first printing session. More to come after the next few weeks.

Worked all day on this tedious job, making the whole thing quite cohesive but making it look as though it is falling apart as well as combining the text and the shirt as much as possible.

Live to Work 10/21/2009

When your work is your life, it just doesn't seem that much fun for me, I would rather have a casual/creative job where I earn enough to live but more importantly enjoy life. Bringing back the incident of the business man being hit by the bus I have this image to represent that. I'm going to add blood splatters to bleed out the tie, just subtly.

Work to Live 10/17/2009

For this pair of posters I was looking at what was representative of employment to me and also our attitudes to work in New Zealand and perhaps globally. I was going to look at particular aspects of jobs I've had and the ideal job for me after I graduate. But decided to go with something a bit more general but still personally relevant, so I went with work shirts, the Hare side will be represented by a business shirt and tie which links back to the initial catalyst for my project, the man being hit by the bus. For the tortoise side I have been working on the shirt, which is a shirt of mine, more casual with the sleeves rolled up, reflecting a more casual approach to a creative job.

Worked on the Quality over Quantity a bit more, AS I thought about what represented Quality without relying on the opposite which was a beer label, but still mirroring the elements so they could become recognisable as a pair. I adjusted the Quantity over Quality to suit.
