Inspiration/motivation

These are a few links which are helping me with my conceptual work and also websites I regularly visit to get myself inspired

Slow Design

Slow design has offered great insight into my conceptual work this year, bringing thought in my design aimed at interaction, design for personal benefit, sustainability and a focus on aesthetics, rituals and personal experience.
It provides an ethos that is aimed at changing the worlds habits for the better.

Experimental Jetset

Experimental Jetset has provided me with an understanding of post-marxist design and the characteristics for design of that era and it's strong use of Helvetica. It is design is considered and functional, everything has a purpose and is aimed at promoting positive creative thinking. A lot of their work is quite minimalist, the idea behind that is that the message becomes clearer and at times, less means more.

Bibliothèque

A London based design agency that provides brilliant design strategy based around strong research. Beneficial design that is thought provoking, a strong part of the design I am trying to do with my studio research project this year.

Studio on Fire

Studio on Fire is a letterpress and design company, producing some wonderfully hand crafted design work. The traditional techniques marry up with some of the Slow Design ideals. Their hand crafted aesthetic and attention to detail with printing processes helps me realise that printing is not dying or being drowned by the massive digital design work being produced.

Anti Advertising agency

Stephen Lambert in particular has some amazing work, as well as what they stand for, which is to do with reclaiming advertising space on the street with art. One piece of work in particular has triggered much of the thought behind my research project this year.
